LAPT offers —
1. LAPT Independent Industry Certifications
Traditional academic pathways (degrees, diplomas, university programs) are designed for broad education. They usually focus on theory, research, and long-term learning outcomes. While valuable, they are not always aligned with the immediate skills employers require in the workplace.
By contrast, industry-standard benchmarks focus on whether a professional can perform specific job roles at the standard expected by employers. These benchmarks are practical, skill-based, and globally comparable, ensuring that two professionals certified under the same standard can deliver the same quality of work.
This is where an independent external assessment body like LAPT plays a crucial role. We do not provide training ourselves; instead, we set the benchmark, evaluate the training quality of partner centres, and conduct independent assessments of learners. This ensures that the certification is unbiased, credible, and trusted by employers.
For employers, this means confidence: when they see a candidate with an LAPT certification, they know the person has been assessed independently, against global industry standards, not just trained or graded internally. This increases employability for candidates and reduces hiring risk for organisations.
How LAPT Works
LAPT certifications follow a rigorous, transparent process that ensures every certified professional is aligned with industry standards and trusted by employers worldwide.
-
Industry Selection & Standard Development
We begin by identifying an industry and developing its skill standards in close consultation with employers and industry leaders. This ensures the benchmarks reflect real workplace requirements. -
Curriculum & Catalog Design
Based on these standards, we create a catalog of qualifications and curriculum frameworks. This catalog defines what learners should know and be able to do at each certification level. -
Local Delivery through Training Providers
Accredited training providers deliver these curricula. They have the flexibility to adapt delivery methods to local employer needs, while still adhering to LAPT’s global standards. -
Reference Training Material
To support consistent delivery, LAPT supplies reference training materials and manuals aligned with our standards. This helps training providers teach effectively while maintaining global benchmarks. -
Independent Assessments
Students undergo both internal and external assessments. External assessments are conducted through the LAPT LMS system, monitored by independent assessors either online or on-site, ensuring fairness and credibility.
Outcome: A student who passes these independent assessments earns an LAPT certification — a trusted, employer-recognized mark of competence that bridges academic learning and industry standards.
What problems are we solving?
In a market saturated with vocational skill programmes, it’s difficult to determine the efficiency and quality of a given training programme. There is a strong need for an external quality assurance body that can be trusted by both students and employers. We are passionate about changing this situation; that’s why we have LACE (London Academy Certification and Examination) Board—to protect and promote good quality courses that offer value for money to learners.
LAPT exams delivered via the Pearson VUE testing centre network are credible and trusted by employers globally.
Need for an independent External Skill Assessment Body
The foundation of LAPT certification arose from employers’ and students’ lack of trust. Quality in vocational education and training is key. We noticed poor quality courses that:
- Either let participants down with poor course descriptions and guidelines;
- Provide inadequate quality content;
- Provide unsatisfactory customer service;
- Use meaningless qualifications that hold no significant value with any EQA regulatory body.
As an external assurance body, we bring employers’ trust and increase the employability of a LAPT-certified professional.
